Data scientist
We are building an automated data visualisation engine. It analysis data intelligently, identifies the most appropriate visuals, and lays out a dashboard without human intervention – but we support manually created templates.
The engine is written in Python. The result is in SVG, often embedded in HTML.
We are looking for people to help build the engine (20% of the time), and customise templates for clients (80% of the time). You will explore clients' data, analyse it using modern statistical techniques, find the best visualisations that tell the story of the analysis, and implement it.

If you like solving Project Euler problems for fun, or building open source projects on the side, and consider yourself fairly good at Python, you may be the person for us.
Your job will require a combination of programming, statistics, and art. We don't expect you to know all three. If you are a good programmer, and have an interest in machine learning, interaction design and large scale optimisation, we may be the company for you. We'll train you and set you on the path to data science.

Analytics lead
We're working with large Indian and multinational corporates, understanding their reporting needs and automating their data workflow.
We are looking for enthusiastic analysts who'll speak to business users, understand and prioritise their needs, and translate these into a workflow on their systems.
You'll need to have an excellent understanding of data-driven systems, specifically:
- Writing and optimising SQL queries. For example, you are comfortable with sub-selects and outer joins.
- Exploring data on Microsoft Excel and Access. For example, you can use array formulas and the OFFSET function without help; and you can join multiple tables on Access.
- Building and using Databases. For example, you've installed a DB2 database from scratch.
- Working on BI systems. For example, you know how to create and schedule a report to run at a fixed time on Cognos.
You'll also need a fair understanding of statistics. For example, you can determine the probability that two data sets have a different mean.
You need to have a programming background as well, as you'll be working with our team to automate many of these processes. The language and environment doesn't matter.
Your primary role will be lead a team of 10-15 people and guide them, with these skills, to ensure that the analysis requests are resolved within our promised service levels.
You will work out of our office and our client sites, both at Hyderabad.
Webapp developer
We build custom webapps for clients. This may be a timesheet management system, a proposal tracker, an email automation utility, a materials tracking system, ...
We work on open source technologies, and are fanatic about rapid iterations. If PHP gets the job done quickly, that's fine. If it's better done in pure client- side Javascript, that's fine too. If there's an open source package for it, we'll just re-use it.
But every now and then, we experiment with the cutting-edge. Node.js servers with CouchDB databases, for example. Or Tornado with Redis. It keeps us sharp, and we discover more ways of saving time for us and our clients.

If you're strong in PHP and Javascript, like playing with AJAX, have dabbled in HTML5 and CSS3, and build websites for fun, you may be the person for us.
As part of your job, you will work with clients to understand their needs, translate that into a prototype within a few days, and keep iterating on it until you're both happy.
You will learn (if you don't already know) some core Javascript libraries ( e.g. jQuery, underscore, ...) and CSS frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, YUI3, ...) inside out; you will learn to write web apps that run on mobiles, with offline capability; you will learn to move comfortably between NoSQL databases and relational databases.

Data Analyst
Job description
We are looking for someone to:
- Understand Business Requirements and determine optimal way of extracting the required data by writing and running optimal SQL queries, Stored Procedures etc
- Perform data extraction, processing and create ad hoc reports of high-volume transactions on a daily basis using PL-SQL, MS Access and MS Excel
- Create reports in standardized formats using MS Excel and circulate on defined frequency of daily, weekly or monthly.
- Maintain scheduled batch jobs and providing fixes in case of any failure.
- Work on assigned work-request tickets and ensure speedy resolution of the same within SLA and as per Business needs.
Qualifications
- BSc Degree in Computer Science , Maths streams or other Bachelor Degree in statistics

Visualisation Developer

We are looking for someone to:
- Understand Business Requirements and translate them into Application functionality
- Write programs to perform data extraction, transformation and processing of big, unstructured data using advanced mathematical and statistical functions
- Create programs to visualise data in the form of real-time, light-weight reports by leveraging the Gramener Visualisation Server
- Spend time coding new chart templates and augment the Visualisation Server in the areas of Data Visualisation, Text and Social Analytics
Skills & Qualifications:
- BE/BTech in Computer Science or MCA Degree from Tier-1 colleges (IIT / NIT / Top Engineering colleges from Tier-1 cities)
- Passouts from the years 2011 or 2012 who have graduated with over 70% in aggregate
- Excellent programming skills, preferably with hands-on knowledge in Python, jQuery, Shell scripts and CSS
