A Kitchen in the Office

It has been about 60 years since a large number of women in the US joined the workforce, and about 2 since a large number of women all over the world left the workforce. The coronavirus pandemic has disproportionally affected female employees, mostly due to the heightened disparity in unpaid work. From discrimination to maternity leave, there are several factors which influence women who want to enter the labour force (or continue to be a part of it.) What are the changes to come in a post pandemic workplace? Does the future make space for a kitchen in the office? Better yet, does the kitchen make space for men?

Women seem to have the upper hand when it comes to completing their tertiary education. Ratio of female to male students in tertiary level education: Gender Parity Index in Education

But there are still loads more men than women in the workforce, across the world.

But, well things are being done to address this issue, right? Work time flexibility, ease in reporting discrimination, parental leave.

So, if it all goes well, we'll have gender equality in the year 2154. (Perhaps our grandchildren's coffins will see it.
