Exciting World Cup so far. None of the matches have gone to the wire (yikes, that expression again) but they haven't been short of intensity. UAE went on to register their highest score but that wasn't enough to stop Zimbabwe from winning. Earlier in the day UAE started slowly but thanks to some big hitting by Shaiman, Javed & Naveed the score looked a pretty 285/7. For the Zimbabweans Chatara, Mire and Williams were amongst the wickets. Except for Maskadza the Zimbabwe top order contributed generously both their runs and wickets :-). At 167/5 the game looked to be in the balance but Williams 76* (65) & Ervine 42 (32) blew away any such hope that UAE had and sailed home comfortably in the end. The game also saw a hit-wicket and a nine-ball over (Remember Zaheer? - Ind vs Aus - 2003 Final - It seemed unending). Anyways, good game overall. Hope the rest of the tournament lives up to expectation.
