UI Lead Job Description

We are looking for a front-end technology expert who can build our custom Data Applications. You will be building front-end components, scaffoldings, and utilities that will be used across multiple business engagements.

UI Lead Job Responsibilities and Skills

• Lead UI team that translates beautiful designs to solutions that end-users use.
• Interact with business teams to understand the scope, define the front-end implementation approach, and deliver components.
• Setup and sustain best engineering practices. Constantly raise the bar for practices.
• Create clear career paths for team members, mentor them on their goals. Evaluate performance regularly and share feedback.
• Excellent communication skills are critical to understand and translate business needs into usable solutions.
• 6+ years of web development experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript libraries.
• Proficient with the Bootstrap library (or similar) for UI components.
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass).
• Understand image optimizations, layouts, responsiveness, browser support for CSS utilities, accessible components, box model in and out.
• Familiarity with Javascript (ES2015/ES6) and modern front-end development tools (npm, Webpack, Babel, Gulp, etc.) is a plus.
• Data visualization with SVG/canvas experience a plus.
• Experience using a backend language and framework (i.e., Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, Javascript/Node) is a plus.
